Mythological Literature for Traditionalists
I’m the author of the “Lady Raven and The Black Wedding,” “The Trial of Mr. Brown,” and “Violet Wine.” I’m on a mission to fulfil Christianity’s need for the highest quality mythological literature. I was inspired by Lewis and Tolkien, so I write for people who long for more Narnia and Middle-earth, because there simply isn’t enough magnificent Christian High Fantasy in the world today. I love what I do, never cut corners, and would rather earn 10 true fans than sell 10,000 copies.
A short literary story about imagination, authority, and the quiet violence of growing up “successful.”
You probably learned this lesson early. That imagination is childish.
That stories are distractions.
That practical people don’t daydream.
Somewhere along the way, something vital was taken—taken deliberately—and you were told it was for your own good.
Contraband is a short story about that moment.

Featured Story
Mr. Brown has just had a heart attack. When he wakes up, he is surrounded by ravens who tell him that he is on trial to determine whether he is dead or not.
Comedy in the grand old style, The Trial of Mr. Brown asks the question, “What does it mean to truly be alive?” The characters are unforgettable, the setting is totally unique, and the plight of poor Mr. Brown is universally relatable. A thought-provoking entry into the world of Lady Raven, this is a stand-alone story that will leave you wondering if you, too, have been “walking about upstairs, dead as a doornail.”
